We’re based in Huntstown, Dublin 15. Most landscapers treat shed bases as an afterthought – something they squeeze in between driveways and patios when they’ve a gap in the diary. That’s not us.
Shed foundations are the whole point. Get the base wrong and you’re looking at damp floors, warped timber, and a shed that won’t survive five Irish winters. We’ve seen that enough times to know.
20+ Years in the Ground
Shed Base Dublin is Gezim Tahiraj’s operation – Zim, to everyone who knows him.
Before this, he spent over twenty years doing driveways, patios and outdoor groundwork all over Dublin through his original company, Driveways and Patios Dublin.
Not a career change. An evolution.
Twenty years of Dublin clay. Twenty years of tight terraced house access, awkward back gardens, and concrete poured in November rain. That experience doesn’t come from a course.
Eventually the shed base requests kept coming in as a standalone ask. People were getting their shed delivered and then realising nobody had sorted the ground underneath it. So Zim set up Shed Base Dublin to deal with exactly that gap. Properly.

What We Do
Four base types. That’s the full offer:
- Concrete slabs – for the big stuff. Garden offices, workshops, heavy timber sheds. Poured properly, with a C20 or C30 mix depending on the load.
- Paving slabs – cleaner finish, easier on the eye. Good call for smaller sheds in a landscaped garden.
- EcoBase modular panels – gravel-filled plastic grid system. Fast to install, permeable, budget-friendly.
- Stabilised gravel – the most economical option. Works well on flat ground with decent drainage.
Everything starts with the groundwork – excavation, compacted 804 hardcore sub-base, and a Damp Proof Membrane where the shed type needs it. Steel sheds especially. Condensation is a real problem in Irish conditions and a DPM is non-negotiable.
